On 22 and 23 September, as part of the celebrations of the International Day of Peace, an event was organized at Kiryandongo camp in Bweyale District, Uganda, which houses a large number of refugees of different nationalities, including South Sudanese, Congolese, and Kenyan, with an estimated number of about 20,000 refugees in the camp living in different residential groups within the camp.

The activities, which were held in cooperation with the Sudanese refugee community, the Refugee Administration and the Kriandongo Camp Youth Union, aimed to promote peace concepts, provide psychological support and recover from psychological trauma resulting from wars.

The activities targeted Sudanese youth, women and children residing in the camp, with the aim of fostering a sense of community, solidarity and resilience among Sudanese refugees in Uganda.
