The ongoing war in Sudan has plunged millions into a humanitarian crisis, threatening food security and the right to life. To address this urgent issue, the Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy convened a held today, Saturday, December 6, a seminar titled “War in Sudan and the repercussions of food security and the right to food: Towards Sustainable Solutions” at the headquarters of the African Organization for Rights and Development.
The seminar brought together a group of experts and activists to discuss the devastating effects of the ongoing war in Sudan on food security, highlighting the challenges facing millions of civilians suffering from hunger and malnutrition.
The discussion revolved around several key themes, including:
A review of the worsening humanitarian crisis in Sudan and the impact of the conflict on food distribution and rising hunger rates.
Emphasizing the right to food as a basic human right, and the challenges of its implementation in light of armed conflicts.
A set of sustainable agricultural strategies and the role of international organizations in supporting these efforts were presented.
The symposium aimed to achieve several key objectives, including
Highlighting the devastating impact of the war on agriculture and food production in Sudan.
Emphasize the human right to food as a non-negotiable fundamental right.
Reviewing successful international and regional experiences in dealing with food crises.
Provide practical recommendations for sustainable solutions to address the food crisis in Sudan.
The symposium participants came up with a set of important recommendations, including:
Providing urgent humanitarian support to war-affected areas.
Developing sustainable agricultural programs to enhance local production.
Urge the warring parties to commit to facilitating humanitarian access to those in need.
Strengthening partnerships between governments and international organizations to address the crisis.
In conclusion, participants emphasized the need for local and international efforts to address the food crisis in Sudan and protect civilians from the devastating effects of the war.

لقد ادت الحرب الدائرة في السودان الى انزلاق الملايين من السودانيين الى أزمة إنسانية تهدد الأمن الغذائي والحق في الحياة، ولمعالجة هذه القضية الملحة، عقد المركز النوبي للسلام والديمقراطية، اليوم 7 ديسمبر، ندوة حوارية بعنوان “الحرب في السودان وتداعيات الأمن الغذائي والحق في الغذاء: نحو حلول مستدامة”، وذلك بمقر المنظمة الأفريقية للحقوق والتنمية.
جمعت الندوة نخبة من الخبراء والناشطين لمناقشة الآثار المدمرة للحرب الدائرة في السودان على الأمن الغذائي، وتسليط الضوء على التحديات التي تواجه ملايين المدنيين الذين يعانون من الجوع وسوء التغذية.
ودار النقاش حول عدة محاور رئيسية، من بينها:
تم استعراض الأزمة الإنسانية المتفاقمة في السودان وتأثير النزاع على توزيع الغذاء وارتفاع معدلات الجوع.
التأكيد على الحق في الغذاء كحق أساسي للإنسان، وتحديات تطبيقه في ظل النزاعات المسلحة.
تم طرح مجموعة من الاستراتيجيات الزراعية المستدامة ودور المنظمات الدولية في دعم هذه الجهود.
وهدفت الندوة إلى تحقيق عدة أهداف رئيسية، من بينها:
تسليط الضوء على التأثير المدمر للحرب على الزراعة والإنتاج الغذائي في السودان.
التأكيد على حق الإنسان في الغذاء كحق أساسي غير قابل للتفاوض.
استعراض التجارب الدولية والإقليمية الناجحة في التعامل مع الأزمات الغذائية.
تقديم توصيات عملية لحلول مستدامة لمعالجة الأزمة الغذائية في السودان.
خلص المشاركون في الندوة إلى مجموعة من التوصيات الهامة، من بينها:
تقديم دعم إنساني عاجل للمناطق المتضررة من الحرب.
تطوير برامج زراعية مستدامة لتعزيز الإنتاج المحلي.
حث الأطراف المتحاربة على الالتزام بتسهيل وصول المساعدات الإنسانية إلى المحتاجين.
تعزيز الشراكات بين الحكومات والمنظمات الدولية لمعالجة الأزمة.
في الختام أكد المشاركون في الندوة على ضرورة تكاتف الجهود المحلية والدولية لمعالجة الأزمة الغذائية في السودان، وحماية المدنيين من آثار الحرب المدمرة.
