In an important step towards serving the Sudanese society that suffers from extreme humanitarian conditions due to the repercussions of the war, the Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy and the Sudan Doctors for Peace and Development Organization, signed today, Monday, November 25, 2024, at the office of the Sudan Doctors Organization, a Memorandum of Understanding and comprehensive partnership that aims to promote peace, improve health care, and empower local communities, especially in areas most affected by conflicts.
The purpose of this MoU is to establish a framework for collaboration between SDPD and (NCPD) to enhance humanitarian efforts and community development initiatives for Sudanese in Uganda, leveraging each organization’s strengths and resources for the greater benefit of the communities served.

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Between Sudan Doctors for Peace and Development Organization (SDPD) and Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy (NCPD).
November 24, 2024. – Kampala, Uganda.
1. Introduction
This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is entered into by and between the Sudan Doctors for Peace and Development Organization (SDPD), an organization dedicated to providing humanitarian aid and healthcare services, located in Uganda – Kampala -Intinda Plot 126 Hancook Road, presented By Mr. Nagi M. Magzoub as a first Parity,
And Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy, It is a center that supports efforts to build comprehensive and lasting peace in Sudan and human rights, and aims to consolidate democracy and humanitarian principles to create a democratic and peaceful society, located in – Uganda – Kampala, Old kampala, Bukesa, Plot No.162, Nsalo Road 15A, represented by Mohamed Salih Mohamed Yassin (PhD), Chairperson for the (NCPD).
2. Purpose
The purpose of this MoU is to establish a framework for collaboration between SDPD and Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy to enhance humanitarian efforts and community development initiatives for Sudanese in Uganda, leveraging each organization’s strengths and resources for the greater benefit of the communities served.
3. Objectives
- The purpose of this MoU is to outline the terms and conditions of the collaboration between the Organization and the Training Center.
- The scope of this MoU includes the development, delivery, and evaluation of training and capacity building programs for the Organization’s employees as well as Sudanese Targeted Groups in needs.
- To support community development initiatives that enhance the quality of life and promotion of peace and security, promote human rights streamlined in stopping and addressing root causes of wars, promote sustainable development.
- To facilitate capacity-building and training programs for healthcare, capacity building and development professionals.
- To foster a collaborative environment that encourages sharing of knowledge, resources, and best practices.
- (NCPD) and (SDPD) and partners will following integrated approaches to serve the refugees communities in the region such as the multi-sectoral approach that includes education, protection from violence, livelihoods and food security (LFS), water, sanitation and hygiene promotion (WASH), shelter, and information, counselling, and legal assistance (ICLA) which are delivered in line with safe and inclusive programming (SIP) standards and digital. Combined with the community-based approach which aids in the assessment and determination of the level of vulnerability for the participants. (NCPD) and (SDPD) complements its program with existing referral pathways established with other humanitarian actors to respond to the needs of the affected population in all the major refugee hosting districts including the urban areas.
4. Areas of Collaboration
The areas of collaboration between SDPDO and Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy include, but are not limited to:
- facilitate communication with Uganda INGOs to find access.
- Community development projects, including education, infrastructure, and livelihood initiatives.
- Food security – ensure that Sudanese have access to food through regular food distribution.
- Capacity-building and training workshops for healthcare and capacity building development workers.
- Research and data collection to inform program development and policy advocacy.
- Advocacy and awareness campaigns on health and development issues.
5. Responsibilities of the Parties
- Conduct trainings and outreach programs in targeted communities.
- Implement community development projects in partnership with local stakeholders.
- Provide logistical support and coordination for joint initiatives.
- Facilitate access to communities and local networks.
6. Joint Responsibilities
- Collaborate on the design, planning, and implementation of joint programs and projects.
- Share relevant data, research, and resources to enhance the effectiveness of joint initiatives.
- Regularly communicate and meet to review progress, address challenges, and plan future activities.
- Seek funding and resources from external donors to support collaborative efforts.
7. Duration and Termination
This MoU is effective upon the date of the last signature and will remain in effect for a period of two (2) years. It may be renewed upon mutual agreement of both parties. Either party may terminate this MoU by providing written notice to the other party at least thirty (30) days in advance.
8. Confidentiality
Both parties agree to maintain the confidentiality of any sensitive information shared during the collaboration and not to disclose such information to any third party without prior written consent.
9. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from or related to this MoU will be resolved through mutual consultation and negotiation between the parties.
10. Signatures
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this Memorandum of Understanding as of the date below.

الغرض من مذكرة التفاهم هذه هو إنشاء إطار للتعاون بين البرنامج الإنمائي للديمقراطية والتنمية المستدامة والمركز النوبي للسلام والديمقراطية لتعزيز الجهود الإنسانية ومبادرات التنمية المجتمعية للسودانيين في أوغندا، والاستفادة من نقاط القوة والموارد لكل منظمة من أجل تحقيق فائدة أكبر للمجتمعات التي تخدمها
الأهداف:
الغرض من مذكرة التفاهم هذه هو تحديد شروط وأحكام التعاون بين المنظمة ومركز التدريب.
يشمل نطاق مذكرة التفاهم هذه تطوير وتقديم وتقييم برامج التدريب وبناء القدرات لموظفي المنظمة وكذلك المجموعات السودانية المستهدفة ذات الاحتياجات.
دعم مبادرات التنمية المجتمعية التي تعمل على تحسين نوعية الحياة وتعزيز السلام والأمن، وتعزيز حقوق الإنسان المبسطة في وقف ومعالجة الأسباب الجذرية للحروب، وتعزيز التنمية المستدامة.
تسهيل برامج بناء القدرات والتدريب للعاملين في مجال الرعاية الصحية وبناء القدرات والتنمية.
تعزيز بيئة تعاونية تشجع على تبادل المعرفة والموارد وأفضل الممارسات.

توفير الدعم اللوجستي والتنسيق للمبادرات المشتركة.
تسهيل الوصول إلى المجتمعات المحلية والشبكات المحلية.
المسؤوليات المشتركة:
التعاون في تصميم وتخطيط وتنفيذ البرامج والمشاريع المشتركة.
مشاركة البيانات والبحوث والموارد ذات الصلة لتعزيز فعالية المبادرات المشتركة.
التواصل والاجتماع بانتظام لمراجعة التقدم المحرز ومعالجة التحديات والتخطيط للأنشطة المستقبلية.
البحث عن التمويل والموارد من الجهات المانحة الخارجية لدعم الجهود التعاونية.
المدة والإنهاء:
تسري مذكرة التفاهم هذه من تاريخ التوقيع الأخير وتبقى سارية المفعول لمدة سنتين (2). ويجوز تجديدها بناء على اتفاق الطرفين. ويجوز لأي من الطرفين إنهاء مذكرة التفاهم هذه عن طريق تقديم إشعار خطي للطرف الآخر قبل ثلاثين (30) يوماً على الأقل.
السرية:
يوافق الطرفان على الحفاظ على سرية أي معلومات حساسة يتم تبادلها أثناء التعاون وعدم إفشاء هذه المعلومات لأي طرف ثالث دون موافقة خطية مسبقة.
حل النزاعات:
يتم حل أي نزاعات تنشأ عن مذكرة التفاهم هذه أو تتعلق بها من خلال التشاور والتفاوض المتبادل بين الطرفين.
التوقيعات:
وإثباتاً لذلك، قام الطرفان بتوقيع مذكرة التفاهم هذه اعتباراً من التاريخ أدناه.
