On September 20, 2024, the closing ceremony of the International Day of Peace was held in Kampala, attended by a large number of Sudanese men and women, along with a delegation from the US Agency USAID.

The ceremony witnessed a distinguished musical performance by the Ambassador of Peace, artist Asim Al-Tayeb Qurashi, and included theatrical performances and a screening of the film “Reef Psalms.”

The events focused on the message of peace and solidarity with the Sudanese, who are facing displacement, migration and asylum in neighboring countries due to the ongoing humanitarian crises from the distant Rif wars until the war of April 15, 2023.
The events aimed to enhance community spirit and commitment towards building a peaceful Sudan.

Through music, theatre and cinema, the events sought to inspire hope and resilience in the face of the challenges facing the Sudanese, especially human rights violations. The event aimed to build peace and end wars in Sudan and prioritize providing humanitarian aid to affected areas.
The active engagement of attendees at the event created a sense of community and a shared commitment towards a peaceful and stable future.
