Dr. Mohamed Yassin is a Sudanese-Italian Scholar. Appointed as First Undersecretary of Federal Governance in Sudan Transitional Government, ended due to 25th October 2021 coup d’etat. Awarded PhD in Economics, Ecology, Landscape and Territory, University of Udine in Italy, Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture, focusing on “The Nile Basin in Transformation: Challenges, Constraints and Opportunities.” Spent 6 months at the University of Minnesota, USA as visiting scholar in the department of Applied Economics. Holds Masters Degree in International Veterinary Cooperation, University of Padua, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Obtained Post-graduate Proficiency Degree in International Development Cooperation, University of Padua, Faculty of Political Science, Department of International Studies, Obtained Post-graduate Proficiency Degree in Rural Development in Developing Countries, University of Padua, Faculty of Agriculture, Awarded scholarship Post-graduate joint Master Degree in International Business Import-Export Management, Italian National Institute for Foreign Trade ICE, University for foreigners of Perugia and University of Catania, Faculty of Economics, Holds B.Sc. Honors degree Agricultural Economics, University of Khartoum. Winner of awards, scholarships from Italian University for Foreigners Perugia, Dante Alighieri Rome Committee, The Italian National Institute for Foreign Trade, Veneto Region, Treviso Chamber of Commerce, Province, Sapienza UN-HABITAT Millennium MUST Team, University of Udine. Worked in Management of Civil Engineering and Construction Industry for more than 7 years in Italy and 3 years in South Sudan, later on worked for 5 years in Viticulture and Oenology Research Centre of the University of Padua, Conegliano Campus. Regular participant in the EU Development Days, Brussels Development Policy Briefings, African Union Web-streamed Meetings among other International Scientific Conferences FAO, IFAD, WFP, Schools in International Development and Cooperation, UN Human Rights Council, and the UN.
Fluent in Arabic, English, Italian Languages, with good knowledge of French and Spanish, combined with very good knowledge in Information and Communication Technologies. Member in various National and International professional Organizations, Societies, Member of the Sudan’s People Liberation Movement.

Prepared African Projects within the frame of the M2 in Global E-Business at the University of Lille in France and Audit Studies in the University of Paris 1 Sorbonne. Planning a postdoc action research in his fields of expertise.

Historical background about Mr. Ahmed Eltigani Sidahmed, Senior Advisor (Policy, investment & Strategiic Planning; Agric Sector Analysis, M&E. KMD, Research and Programme Development). Experience in 70 countries in Africa, Asia University of California-Davis USDA, Winrock International, USAID, FAO, IFAD, WB, CGIAR, AU (AU-IBAR & PAP) and RCG. Guided, evaluated, directed research programs, reviewed and assessed food security, resilience & poverty reduction in fragile and climate risk environments. Recently developed IFAD-GCC Engagement strategy and FAO’s GAFSP and supported development of USAID Agric Sudan Project and Advised Sudan Post Army Coup Prime Minister in Agriculture Transformation; developed innovation scaling up plans in dry vulnerable countries. Recently Adviser Senior Consultant -Rapid Assessment of Covid-19 Impacts on the Animal Resources in Africa, Identification of Mitigation Measures and Resource Mobilization for IsDB, AfDB, EU Multidonor Project. Recently lead evaluation /development of strategies & strategic plans for the AU, IGAD Food Security Nutrition and Resilience Analysis Hub, the Pan African Parliament and AOAD. Participated in the evaluation of fragile and conflict affected states.; and in the evaluation of the USAID’s FtF/ AMA-IL with particular attention to index insurance for weather & farming risks management Lead EU agriculture sector assessment -Jordan; was USAID Senior Agriculture Adviser for Agric assessment in the Greater Equatoria. Very active during the past ten years as FAO Investment Center (TCI) Economist & Lead Technical Adviser responsible for the development & validation of past CAADP agriculture investment plans for Sudan and IGAD. I was FAO Senior Operation Officer, IFAD Senior Technical Adviser, & ICARDA Director of Knowledge Management & Dissemination, Director, Diversification & Sustainable Intensification of the Production Systems & Head of Training & Capacity Development. I was Associate Director for Partnership & Development at the University of California Davis. Lead /participated in quality control/enhancement and innovation mainstreaming related tasks of major organizations. I have published and presented more than 100 research results, invited keynote speeches, review & strategic reports.

Machrine Birungi is an accomplished Media Relations Officer with over 15 years of expertise in strategic communication and media engagement. Known for her passion for storytelling and her ability to foster strong relationships between organizations and the media, Machrine excels in delivering impactful, timely, and effective messaging.

Throughout her career, Machrine has held key leadership roles, including News Editor at Uganda Radio Network, Radio Producer for UN Radio Miraya in South Sudan, and Social Media Analyst for the UN-hosted Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council in Geneva. She has also served as Secretary of the East Africa Media Institute and Lecturer at the International Institute of Business and Media Studies.

As a journalist, Machrine’s work has been featured in prestigious outlets such as the Voice of America, The Guardian UK, and The Metro. Her deep understanding of media dynamics ensures seamless collaboration with journalists, influencers, and stakeholders, driving meaningful engagement and amplifying critical stories.

Machrine holds a master’s degree in international relations and World Order from the University of Leicester, a Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the European Center for Peace Studies, and a Bachelor’s degree in Literature and English Studies from Makerere University.
