About

New way newspaper.. Since the outbreak of the conflict in Sudan on April 15, 2023, more than 16 million Sudanese have been displaced internally and to neighboring countries. Internally displaced persons in Sudan face severe communication barriers due to the shutdown of internet and telephone services by the warring parties. Refugees in neighboring countries, including Uganda, South Sudan and Chad, have access to communication tools but lack real information about the situation inside their homeland, and about ongoing efforts and international efforts to stop the war and achieve peace and stability in Sudan. This has created a gap between their families and ongoing peace efforts. Most of these refugees are women, girls and children living in stressful conditions with limited resources. The conflict in Sudan has led to an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, and displacement has not only affected the well-being of the people, but has also torn apart their social fabric and ability to access basic services. The lack of communication infrastructure within Sudan has also isolated IDPs from the outside world, making it difficult for them to receive updates on peace efforts and communicate with their families who have fled to neighboring countries. In Uganda, South Sudan and Chad, Sudanese refugees face many challenges including limited access to food, inadequate shelter and poor living conditions. The psychological impact of displacement coupled with uncertainty about their future has exacerbated the stress and trauma experienced by these refugees. Women and children, who constitute the largest refugee population, are particularly vulnerable and need special support. The lack of access to reliable information has created a significant barrier for refugees to understand their rights and make informed decisions. In addition, the absence of communication channels has prevented them from knowing about ongoing international efforts to stop the war and achieve peace, which has contributed to the absence of their voices from participating in peacebuilding. The New way newspaper, issued by the Nubian Center for Peace and Democracy, works to provide displaced persons and refugees with real information about international efforts and endeavors to stop the war, achieve peace, and enable them to make their voices heard and participate in peacebuilding . It works to advocate for the issues of Sudanese displaced persons and refugees inside and outside Sudan and shed light on all their suffering, especially the humanitarian violations they are exposed to. It also works to promote the values โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹of peace and democracy, enhance human rights, support efforts to establish peace and stop the war in Sudan, achieve security, stability and peaceful coexistence among Sudanese communities, combat hate speech and racism, and promote messages of peace, tolerance and community reconciliation. The New way newspaper also works to cover the activities of Sudanese institutions, bodies and Sudanese civil society organizations that support stopping the war and achieving peace and stability in Sudan.
